130 bombs per day: Russia drops 84,000 KABs on Ukraine in two years

Russia dropped more than 3,500 guided aerial bombs, also known as KABs, on Ukrainian Defense Forces positions and frontline cities in November, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. This is nearly 1,800 fewer than in October but still represents an extremely high intensity of strikes.
84,000 guided bombs used by Russia in 2024–2025
This year, Russia has sharply intensified its aerial terror campaign.
- In 2024, Russian aircraft dropped nearly 40,000 guided bombs, with an average of 109 KABs per day.
- In the first 11 months of 2025, Russia has already used almost 44,000 KABs, about 130 per day.
Ukrainian forces have managed to intercept around 100 KABs, marking a significant step toward developing an anti-KAB defense capability.
Ukraine tests multi-component weapons to counter guided bombs
Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue searching for solutions. Previously, the focus was on destroying Russian aircraft, but this requires long-range weapons capable of reaching enemy airfields, which is something Kyiv still lacks.
Now, Ukraine is testing multi-component systems designed specifically to counter guided bombs, the General Staff said at the end of November 2025.
“Between September and November, the Air Force’s anti-aircraft missile units destroyed up to 100 Russian guided bombs,” the General Staff reported.
Beyond anti-KAB tools, the General Staff reported testing of several advanced military technologies. These include combat and interceptor drones, robotic ground platforms, and new combat modules.
