1 dead, 1 injured after overnight stabbing in East St. Louis

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mo. - A man was killed and another was left injured after a double stabbing early Thursday morning in East St. Louis.

According to East St. Louis Police, the incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. inside a vacant building at the Orr-Weathers Apartment Complex, located on Missouri Avenue and North 14th Street, involving two men.

When police arrived on the scene, officers found a man who had been stabbed across the street from the vacant building. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police later found a second man who had been stabbed inside of the vacant building, possibly on the 8th floor. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Initial reports indicate that the man found outside had been stabbed in the neck, while the person found dead inside of the building had been stabbed in the stomach.

At this point, police have no suspects in custody.
