1 dead, 1 injured after a fatal crash in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. - A Troy, Missouri, woman was killed and another person was injured after a crash Tuesday morning in Lincoln County.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash happened around 8:40 a.m. on Missouri State Highway W, south of Moody Lane, involving a Chevrolet Cobalt and a Chevrolet Colorado.

The Cobalt was traveling in the northbound direction of the highway, while the Colorado was traveling southbound. The highway patrol said the driver of the Cobalt ran off the north side of the roadway and overcorrected before returning to the roadway.

At some point, the Cobalt began to skid, causing the vehicle to enter the northbound lane before traveling off the south side of the road and striking the passenger side of the Chevrolet Colorado, according to the crash report.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 41. The driver of the Chevrolet Colorado sustained minor injures from the crash.

The driver of the Cobalt was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the crash report. the driver of the Colorado was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
