The latest data shows that 35 people have been killed in the Russian missile attack on the city of Sumy on 13 April.

Details: The agency added that 117 people were injured, including 15 children.

Background: 

  • Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that Russian forces launched two strikes on central Sumy on 13 April, two minutes apart, reportedly using Iskander-M cluster high-explosive missiles, which travel at a speed of over 2 kilometres per second.
  • Earlier reports indicated that 34 people had been killed in the attack.
  • Fourteen police officers were injured in the strike and some emergency service personnel who had been responding to the aftermath of the initial blast were killed and injured as well.
